District 37 of the Illinois PTA is that part of Cook County outside the city limits of Chicago which encompasses Elk Grove, Palatine, Schaumburg, Wheeling, and Barrington Townships, plus that part of Lake County, which lies within the Barrington Elementary School District.
“You may have joined PTA to support your child – but your efforts are making your school or community better for every child. It’s not easy, it may even feel exhausting. But you need to know – you’re making a huge difference. We want to say thank you.”
I found this quote on a PTA website and it hit home to me. It’s November already, a month to remember what we are thankful for. The Northwest Cook Region board is thankful for the amazing efforts and voices PTA members are using in our area. PTA is first and foremost a child advocacy organization and you give PTA the voice to speak for our children. Lest you worry what it is you should say, please rest assured your council and region board leaders are here to help. In the most recent issue of the District Dialogue please enjoy a little bragging we did in October for the amazing work units accomplished last year. Then look ahead to winter training. We are preparing new workshops to help you pick out the key points you need from your bylaws, tips to help you brag about your hard work on award applications, and some ever sought after MemberHub tips for more fully benefitting from the platform.
